Swedish Cope Cut Logs

Swedish Cope cut logs are shaped in a concave shape, allowing for the tightest fit from one log into another. Pictured here are a few log profiles, with Swedish Cope cut logs at the top.

Mountain Valley Log Homes uses only Swedish Cope cut logs for their long-term structural integrity and natural beauty.  The Swedish Cope cut style not only ensures the tightest fit from one to another, it also serves as a drip edge to allow rain or snow to flow freely down the outside of the wall.

Saddle-notch corners (also known as saddle-cope or round-notch), the strongest of all corners, gets the name from the saddle-shaped notch cut into the bottom of each round log. Mountain Valley Log Homes cuts interlocking saddle-notch corners to as close of tolerance as possible, providing precision fit, ease of assembly and superior weather-proofing against the elements.

Saddle Notch corners provide you with a solid interlocking stockade corner.
